My name is Zanna and I first discovered yoga in the early 1990’s as a way of helping me cope with the stresses of being a classroom teacher of young children with special educational needs.

I took up a weekly evening class in Harrogate with a wonderful and inspirational teacher, Judith Clint and you could say that since then I have never looked back. I was instantly inspired by the way yoga made me feel, it allowed me to find space and calm from within. Yes, the physical stretching and strengthening postures were lovely, but it was the realisation that by tuning into my body and my breath, I could directly affect the way I was feeling, not just during the yoga class itself, but also in the hectic and sometimes overwhelming world beyond the mat.

Since qualifying as a yoga teacher with The British Wheel of Yoga in 2001, I have taught both adults and children in many settings in and around Harrogate and for several years worked as a self-employed Yoga teacher under the name Bliss Yoga.

In September 2024 I began a new phase in my yoga journey under my new name Northern Bliss Yoga. As well as my regular mixed ability classes I will be offering specialist Menopause Yoga classes and am available for 1:1 and small group sessions.
